Community Programming
Side Street Projects collaborates with local organizations to bring intergenerational art programming to the communities of Pasadena and Altadena.
Through ongoing cyclical dialogue with community members and stakeholders, we have been asked to create peaceful spaces where people can connect, make art, and heal across generations. Year-round, we collaborate with community partners who share our values.

P.E.A.C.E. In the Park
In 2021, Side Street Projects started collaborating with MY TRIBE Rise (MTR) in the planning of #PEACEInTheParkDena, an event celebrating and discussing mobility justice, while creating safe spaces to gather, heal, and connect. From this event came the development of Altadena Pride and MTR’s Annual DENA Juneteenth. Side Street Projects continued as an organizing partner, offering programming opportunities such as our Queer Sanctuary Youth program at Altadena Pride and Skillshares during DENA Juneteenth.

These collaborations opened the door for Side Street Projects to team up with other organizations. We often host Repair Cafe Pasadena, where local volunteers share their time and help people needing repair of items. In recent years, we have collaborated with The Music Center and the Gamble House to bring our intergenerational woodworking workshop.
We continue to collaborate with community partners across Los Angeles County to bring art into the community. Through each partnership, we connect community-centered artists with local areas, fostering healing, connections, and creativity.
