Community Organizing

Side Street Projects collaborates with local organizations to bring intergenerational art programming to the communities of Pasadena and Altadena.

Through ongoing cyclical dialogue with community members and stakeholders, we have been asked to create peaceful spaces where people can connect, make art, and heal across generations. Year-round, we collaborate with community partners who share our values.

Altadena Pride

Each year, Side Street Projects hosts the youth QS program for Pasadena and Altadena LGBTQIA+ high school students & friends during the Altadena Pride Festival.  Led by a community teenager, they provide art activities and discussion amongst the group of teens. First established by Artist-in-residence jas lin in 2020, QS creates a place for queer youth to decompress, contemplate, collaborate, and make youth feel at home.
