Parents! Grandparents! Friends! Neighbors! Ready to learn what the kiddos have been learning on the woodworking bus? Now is the time to join them.

On Saturday, December 6th, join Side Street Projects for a rare chance to take a mobile woodworking class that is open to 5+, including adults. 

Classes offered: 

  • Woodcrafted Toys (Beginners/ 3hrs, 5 years +)

  • Bandsaw Box (Intermediate/5hrs, 14 years +)


 

Each person (adults and kiddos) will have their own adjustable workbench, equipped with all standard hand tools. The class will be taught by two trained Teaching Artists who will introduce you to the basics of hand tool woodworking. From there, you will choose from an array of templates to inspire your own woodworking creation. Templates include wooden animals, cars, picture frames, boxes, and more! All materials provided.

Join woodworker Max Geldman to learn how to make a simple bandsaw box. The bandsaw is a simple and versatile technique for making decorative boxes that can take a variety of shapes.  Participants will choose from a variety of wooden blocks for the base of their project. Some templates will be provided, and you are welcome to bring your own shape or idea.
