"I liked that it covered so much ground. I knew basic HTML, but I was self-taught and had some elementary gaps in my knowledge. I was missing some basics. Those got filled in. I liked that we were all artists and it was not a generic "build a web site class." We all had very similar reasons for showing up. I also appreciated Jean's professional approach. Anyone can make up a unprofessional, template based web site. She showed us how the 'big kids' do it. There was no dumbing down." - Hilda W.

"I liked the pragmatic approach to creating a website, from the overview of design and search engine concepts to the brass tacks of code for intricate functions. I still have a long way to go with aspects I want to learn, mind you, but I'm light years ahead of where I was ten weeks ago. I had been thinking as a designer, and my attempts before this class looked good but worked horribly. The usability, flexibility for modification, ability to be found by search engines, etc., etc. are the meat and potatoes I had no clue about, so I'm happy to say I feel the class has given me a formal introduction to the media." - Sherrie S.

"The class gave a complete view of what is needed to make a website. I really liked the emphasis on the "planning" part. I also learned how to look at websites and decipher them. I also like that I can think of something and do it...or at least I know how to look for it. I also like that now when I look at a website, I also look at the code. I was always reluctant to take a web design class, I was worried it would focus too much on software and not enough on the whole process. I expected this class to be different and it was. The fact that we were all thinking about an artist website made the process very real and pushed me into trying to make something." - Mana R.

"What did I like most? The teacher's style. Witty, succinct, eminently clear. The excellent tutorials. My fellow students. Nice to be working with other artists on the same type of project. It made for good networking and a profitable exchange of ideas. I gained theoretical and practical skills, honed my website concept, learned how to prepare material for web display, and came home with a passel of information to aid me as I build and maintain my website." - Judy Y
